 I would like to congratulate you for your leadership in successfully organizing the 26th International Congress of NRIs. It must be an exhausting job.
I would like to thank the selection committee for selecting me for Hind Rattan Award. I enjoyed the festivities. All the staff members were very helpful.They also needed to be congratulated. During our trip to Jaipur I observed most of the winners very closely. To be very blunt, I feel that some of the winners did not demonstrate the maturity that people expect from such persons. In my presence, one winner wanted to beat up the driver of a bus since he did not follow his order to go to the hotel with his family. Being a university professor, I must be one of the poorest (in terms of money) winners of this award.Money should not be a major selection criterion. I know it very well that host countries in the middle east in particular do not treat NRIs very well, however, they pay them well. These NRIs, when they return to India for a visit, they also mistreat others. The Congress was a big success in all respects. However I believe that there is a room for improvements in all efforts.
